Oman is actively pursuing partnerships with Italy to enhance its tourism sector and safeguard its cultural heritage. Sayyid Ibrahim Said Al Busaidi, Oman’s Minister of Heritage and Tourism, recently visited Italy to explore collaboration opportunities in these areas. The meetings focused on leveraging Italian expertise to diversify and improve Oman’s tourism offerings.
During his visit, Al Busaidi engaged with representatives from the Italian Alpine Club and Renco Company to discuss developing mountain and adventure tourism in Oman. The discussions highlighted the potential to incorporate Italian trail development techniques and associated services to attract more adventure tourists to the region.
The minister’s itinerary also included a visit to the Colosseum Archaeological Park, where he met with its management to learn about archaeological site preservation and heritage management. The exchange aimed at sharing expertise and enhancing professional capabilities to improve visitor experiences and manage heritage sites more effectively.
In an effort to promote Oman through sports tourism, Al Busaidi met with representatives of Inter Milan, exploring ways to showcase Oman’s tourism attractions to a broader international audience. The discussions signify Oman’s intention to leverage sports as a platform for increasing global awareness of its tourism potential.
Additionally, Al Busaidi attended presentations on the Italian tourism market and explored opportunities to strengthen Oman’s presence there. Meetings with Italian media organizations were also held to emphasize Oman’s cultural heritage and tourism diversity.
This initiative is part of Oman’s broader strategy to expand its international partnerships, draw visitors from targeted markets, and utilize global expertise to develop tourism products while preserving its cultural heritage.
