Iraq Eyes Tech Partnerships in Gulf as PM Meets GCC Leader

In a significant diplomatic engagement, Iraqi Prime Minister Ali Al Zaidi has emphasized his administration’s dedication to enhancing ties with Gulf nations during a meeting with Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Secretary General Jasem Al Budaiwi in Baghdad. The discussions centered on broadening cooperation across various fields, including economic development, investment, and regional partnerships. Al Zaidi highlighted Iraq’s progression into a new era, committed to establishing a modern state characterized by complete sovereignty, a robust economy, adherence to the rule of law, and increased interaction with Arab, regional, and international allies.

Al Budaiwi lauded Iraq’s initiatives to boost its economy, tackle corruption, and deepen collaboration with GCC countries. He conveyed the Gulf bloc’s willingness to extend partnerships with Iraq across diverse sectors. This meeting is a pivotal step for Iraq as it aims to strengthen its connections with Gulf states amid recent regional tensions.

The discussions in Baghdad are part of Iraq’s broader strategy to mend and enhance its relations with Gulf countries.
