European “belligerence” regarding the Ukraine war is “childish” and “unprofessional,” Russian Ambassador Denis Alipov said this week.
He argued that the European belief that Russia can be defeated militarily is “craziness,” stating “there is no chance” of such an outcome.
He contrasted this with Donald Trump, whom Alipov claimed “understands” the “futility” of the conflict and that the war is “lost by Ukraine and the West.”
The ambassador’s confidence stems from Russia’s nuclear arsenal, which he said makes it impossible for Russia to be “taken over.”
He also explicitly cited Russia’s “existential threat” doctrine, which permits the use of nuclear weapons, as the bedrock of his assertion.
