Historic Day for Google: $4 Trillion Valuation Achieved

Alphabet, Google’s parent company, has hit a historic $4 trillion valuation, surpassing Apple to become the second-most valuable company in the world. This achievement places Alphabet alongside Nvidia and Microsoft at the top of the market. The surge in value is largely due to a new partnership with Apple, which will use Google’s Gemini AI to power a revamped Siri. This deal highlights the strength of Google’s AI technology.

Apple’s decision to partner with Google was based on a careful evaluation of available technologies. They concluded that Google’s platform offered the most capable foundation for their AI ambitions. This agreement is a major victory for Google, as it integrates its AI into the iPhone ecosystem and validates its investment in the technology.

Alphabet’s stock has risen 65% in 2025, outperforming the other “Magnificent Seven” stocks. This growth is fueled by investor confidence in Google’s product pipeline. While rivals like OpenAI have faced challenges with recent releases, Google has delivered a series of successful products. The Nano Banana image generator and updates to Gemini have helped to maintain momentum and drive stock prices higher.

Google’s cloud business is also a major contributor to its success. The unit reported a 34% revenue increase in the third quarter and has a backlog of $155 billion in contracts. This growth has attracted investment from Warren Buffett’s Berkshire Hathaway. The decision to rent out Google’s custom AI chips to external clients has been a key factor in this success, opening up a new revenue stream for the company.

Despite the positive financial news, Google is navigating a complex legal landscape. The company is facing two major antitrust lawsuits in the US. Although a judge recently ruled against breaking up the company, a trial concerning the online ad market is ongoing. This could result in forced divestitures, but Google’s advertising business remains a strong financial pillar.
