Xiaomi Innovates a Comprehensive Connected Technology Ecosystem Beyond Gadgets

Xiaomi is swiftly evolving from its roots as a smartphone manufacturer into a multifaceted technology powerhouse. The company is ambitiously extending its reach into the realms of home automation, transportation, and digital services, all under its innovative “Human x Car x Home” strategy. Central to this vision is the development of an interconnected ecosystem that seamlessly weaves into various aspects of everyday life.

Recently, Xiaomi ventured into the network-attached storage (NAS) market with the introduction of the Xiaomi Smart Storage device, which offers 4TB, 8TB, and 16TB variants. The device has quickly gained traction, registering over 30,000 orders within the first hour of its crowdfunding launch. Beyond storage capabilities, the product features multi-device backups, remote file access, 4K media streaming, and AI-driven photo management, marking a significant expansion of Xiaomi’s technological offerings.

The company’s extensive product range now encompasses much more than just smartphones and televisions. Xiaomi’s portfolio includes tablets, smartwatches, wireless earbuds, air purifiers, routers, home appliances, smart lighting, gaming monitors, electric scooters, coffee machines, portable printers, and electric vehicles. These diverse products are unified by HyperOS, Xiaomi’s software platform that ensures connectivity across devices in homes and vehicles, aiming to deliver a seamless user experience while maintaining affordability.

Financially, Xiaomi’s strategic expansion has yielded impressive results. The company reported a revenue of 99.1 billion yuan in the first quarter of 2026, alongside a net income of 4.72 billion yuan. Additionally, the full financial year of 2025 saw Xiaomi achieving a record adjusted net profit of 39.2 billion yuan, highlighting the success of its broadening ventures.

In the realm of electric vehicles, Xiaomi has also made remarkable progress, having delivered 600,000 vehicles since entering the market. The company projects its total vehicle deliveries to reach 550,000 units by the end of 2026. By integrating consumer electronics, smart-home devices, digital infrastructure, and electric cars, Xiaomi is carving out a position as one of the world’s most ambitious technology companies.
