Oman and Tanzania are actively seeking to bolster their economic ties by exploring new avenues for trade and investment. A delegation from Oman’s Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion recently engaged in discussions with Tanzanian government officials, economic institutions, and the local business community. These discussions aimed to identify investment opportunities and foster private-sector partnerships between the two nations.
Ibtisam Ahmed Al Farooji, Undersecretary of the ministry for Investment Promotion, highlighted the significance of Tanzania as a strategic economic partner for Oman in East Africa. The delegation emphasized Oman’s strategic location, robust infrastructure, and attractive investment incentives, such as the Golden Residency Programme, which are designed to support international investors and cultivate long-term business relationships.
The meetings focused on broadening economic connections, with both sides keen on facilitating Omani companies’ access to African markets and opening up investment opportunities for Tanzanian businesses in Oman. Strengthening communication between government institutions and private-sector representatives was also identified as crucial for developing joint projects that could benefit both countries.
This initiative is part of Oman’s broader strategy to enhance its economic partnerships across Africa, building upon its established relations with Tanzania. By leveraging existing ties and exploring new collaboration opportunities, both countries aim to create a mutually beneficial economic environment that supports growth and development.
