Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has sent an unequivocal message to Sanaa: there is no immunity for the Houthi leadership. The statement came after an Israeli strike killed the group’s prime minister, an act Netanyahu described as a “fatal blow.”
The strike was a direct consequence of the Houthis’ relentless campaign of firing missiles at Israel and attacking ships in the Red Sea, which they claim is in solidarity with Gaza. Netanyahu warned, “this is just the beginning.”
The operation highlights a major upgrade in Israel’s intelligence capabilities in the Arabian Peninsula. However, the mission did not fully succeed, as key military planners, including the Houthi chief of staff, survived the attack.
The Houthis have vowed to avenge the death of Ahmed Ghaleb Al Rahwi, ensuring the conflict will continue. While the strike puts the leadership on the defensive, security analysts believe it will not be enough to stop the group’s ideologically driven attacks.
