His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik and President Alexander Lukashenko of Belarus oversaw the signing of several agreements and memoranda of understanding (MoUs) in Minsk, marking a new phase of cooperation between the two nations. The signing took place at the Independence Palace as part of His Majesty’s state visit to Belarus.
The agreements included a mutual visa waiver for holders of ordinary passports and a deal on international road transport cooperation. Four MoUs were also signed, covering judicial collaboration, medical research and expertise exchange, and agricultural cooperation in livestock and fisheries. Additionally, both countries endorsed a roadmap to enhance bilateral relations across multiple sectors.
A memorandum of cooperation was also signed for a joint timber project — an international investment initiative to establish a paper pulp production facility in Belarus. The project, backed by the Oman Investment Authority, reflects Oman’s strategy to diversify its global investments and foster long-term economic partnerships.
The agreements are expected to boost trade, investment, and knowledge exchange, laying the foundation for expanded cooperation in key economic and developmental areas between Oman and Belarus.
