Saudi Cabinet Criticizes Iran’s Tech-Driven Threats to Gulf and Hormuz Security

In a recent meeting, Saudi Arabia’s Cabinet firmly denounced Iran’s attacks on Kuwait and Bahrain, pledging unwavering support to these nations while endorsing initiatives to safeguard their sovereignty and security. The Cabinet expressed significant concerns over threats to maritime security and the freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, pointing out that such incidents contravene international law and the United Nations Charter principles.

Amid rising tensions in the region following assaults on vessels within this crucial maritime passage, Saudi officials underscored the imperative of maintaining stability and ensuring the safety of global energy shipments. They emphasized the critical need to protect international shipping routes, a concern that has been magnified by the strategic importance of the Strait of Hormuz to global energy markets.

Moreover, the Cabinet highlighted the importance of continued collaboration between Gulf nations and the United States on regional security matters. They stressed that such coordination is vital for safeguarding shared interests and ensuring ongoing stability in the region, reaffirming their commitment to collective efforts to address these challenges.

In tandem with addressing regional security concerns, Saudi leaders took the opportunity to review ongoing domestic development projects, particularly infrastructure initiatives in Makkah and Riyadh. These projects aim to enhance transportation systems, stimulate urban growth, and improve the overall quality of life for residents, reflecting Saudi Arabia’s commitment to advancing its domestic agenda alongside addressing international security issues.
